I have the carbon fiber one, and based on the amount of muck on the back of it, I can see it helping keep one clean/dry. I just did it because carbon fiber :D

I cheated and bought an ES, it already comes with a side panel to hide all the rear suspension electronics and pumps!! ::024::

I fitted one purely for looks as i felt the bike looked odd with that big space in the frame,i have also found it keeps the rain/dirt off the pillion passenger's right leg.

Me as well, Dollar Tree $1.00 black waste can some zip ties.
It's been on my bike for like three years now. :D
Very cool....the only way to improve would have been to pick it up in a Dumpster Dive :)

Maybe it's just me. I can't understand spending more than $12,000 on a bike only to strap homemade plastic cutouts to it. The Pyramid infills look good and are well made. Each to his own.

The Pyramid cover was the first thing I bought for my bike. It seems to be very robust and improves the look of the bike. Don't even think of trying to buy the factory one that comes on the ES. The price from Yamaha is insane.

When I need that kind of plastic I pick up a bumper cover from next to the road. A piece of this one is going to be a new mud flap.

The $10 Harbor Freight heat gun does a great job for forming it. For example, the fairing and radiator side covers on this old KLR started life as a bumper cover and a piece of Kydex.

You KLR Boys never cease to amaze me for low budget fabrication, or low budget anything!! :D But i have to say that is genius!! ::003::
As long as it isn't obnoxiously obvious i am all for it, a $1.00 black waste can worked for me saves money for a new tire and or gas for another adventure.. ::008::
I ride to ride not to pose, if it's practical and needed i do it. Not like some HD rider with pimped sh*t to look cool..

The factory ES one won't fit the non-ES model anyway as the required mounting points are absent.

That is correct. I followed up on that with an ES owner and it mounts to the electronics package that it covers. A person would have to make brackets to mount it.

I managed to pick an infill used on eBay for £30.
I think it's a big improvement on looks. The non ES bikes always looked like something was missing to me.
Plus it keeps the back of your leg a bit cleaner.
