fork leg diameter (any idea)

might be a funny question, but here it is you know the gold fork stantion that fits into the triple steeering clamps is the diameter of that leg the same diameter
in the top yoke clamp, and lower fork clamp, i know when you have the fork off the gold section is wider in parts,
i was wondering if its the same diameter in the top yoke and lower yoke, if its the same diameter any body know what it is my forks are off the bike and away at the mo

Hard to get a good measurement with the forks on the bike but I think I got a good enough measurement to answer your question.
No, not the same diameter.

I measured 50 mm at the bottom of the upper clamp. (doing it multiple times I got 50.16 - 50.45)
I measured 56 mm at the top of the bottom clamp.

very kind of you to go out of your way to have a check, i thought the topclamp hole was narrower than the lower clamp hole
