Forest fire season in Canada

Planning a trip out to British Columbia in early September. I know that Kelowna is in a state of emergency right now. How are the other areas around Williams Lake, Bella Coola, and the island. Hope everyone is safe

I'm on evac alert, the fire in Kelowna( MacDougall creek fire) is about 10kms south from my house, its insanely smokey here. This will the second time around for me, 2yrs ago the Whiterock creek fire devested our community, several of my neighbors burnt, I was saved, the fire skirted my property but got as close as 10ft from my house.
Currently the BC government is discouraging travel to BC but September thing may change.

Yeah, I've seen a few reports of y'all's fire recently. Not being covered very well. Maui is getting all the press.

I hope that you Lund stay safe. My decision to travel out west will depend on the growing concerns. I don't want to be in the way of the heroes trying to save as much as they can..

There is currently a state of emergency and no travel on roads in the area allowed.

Note that if you click on "Layers" you can select "smoke forecast" which I find very useful. Things are bad here right now.
