As the title suggests, I am seeking information on the different medical evacuation services offered. I live in Texas and am a member of Care Flight insurance. This will pay the amount my medical insurance will not pay for a flight to a hospital. I believe it also helps with the ambulance service that gets me to the Helicopter.
If you have anything else on this that would help or that I would need to know, feel free to post up.. lol

Ok, As my Care Flight only covers 500 miles from my home, I am looking for another insurance or service that will cover me when I'm more than 500 miles from home.
There seem to be a few of these and most are for out of country travel. I have looked into Med jet assist, but would like to know what you have.

So if anyone has a med evac service they like better, or any info that would be of use, please speak up.
Thanks

The wife and I have MedJet. A bit wider coverage than what you describe, and they will transport the bike as well, in some conditions. To qualify, a Dr. must sign off on you being unable to ride, even if you are able to be discharged. Most of the coverage is precluded upon you be admitted to a hospital, even if you are later discharged. They do offer short term coverage too, if you're looking to cover a specific trip period. The folks that we know that have actually used it have been very pleased with the service and coverage. The same can not be said of the people we know that have actually used the Geos coverage thru SPOT. One has never been reimbursed after a major accident and lifeflight/hospital stay.

Thanks Eric, Med jet assist is the other one I am looking at. At the time, the coverage for the states, is what I'm looking for. We don't plan on leaving the stated this year and can upgrade when we do.
If I was in Utah, for example, would Med Jet work for getting me back home, and bring my bike back? Or in my case, I would have a suv, trailer, and bike.

As the rest of my riding will be on a dirt bike, I need a policy that I can count on. I will always be riding with others, so the Spot I don't think would be worth it. And from what you have said, they may not work at all...

Coverage in the States, Yes. SUV, trailer and bike, No. We have three towing services, (BMW, AAA & Allstate), so I agree, no one coverage will do it all. And then we have MedJet for the serious shit. I have MedJet in part due to the IBR and in part because it rocks for getting you back home with minimal hassle and issues. They follow thru with what they say they will cover.

For multi-vehicle issue, Allstate Rocks. No matter if it's a 5th wheel or a bike, they are good with that and will tow you to the nearest authorized service dealer, be it 1 mile or 1000 miles. And if the dealers are all closed that day, they will tow you home.

Got to love AAA for 100 miles to where ever you want, (AAA+RV), but it differs from region to region, so check that before you buy in.

I also have multiple towing services, but they are not going to get my rig back home. lol.
So what your saying is MedJet will get ME home, but not my rig? So is there anything out there that would do that?

MedJet will get you and your bike home, IF you are unable to ride. If you are are hospitalized. I do not think it will help with the SUV or tailer. Allstate will tow the rig, but not positive of under what conditions other than a break down.

I have "Emergency Assistance Plus" through the AOPA, but anyone can subscribe. It works in the lower 48. Check out, www.emergencyassistanceplus.com
Besides initial medivac assist, they advertise getting you, companion & vehicle back home. When I signed up a year ago, they said if you were alone & hospitalized, they would even arrange local rep to be a hospital advocate for you.

Thanks for that info, it sounds like it may be a contender. I'll have to check it out more in depth.
