This past winter a had the opportunity to try out a Teslong 150 borescope that a friend had picked up. So of course it got a trial run on my 12 Tenere with 133,000 km on it to see how it was doing inside the cylinder head.
I have run a pretty steady diet of Yamalube ring free plus concentrate which was used every 2-3rd tank of fuel over about the last 80,000kms.
The date on the pics. are almost correct, should read 2018.
Piston top showing some areas of carbon build up, and some not.
Same piston top.
The round circle near the top is a small light I had down the the other plug hole to see if more light would improve the image at all.
Tried to get a look at the cylinder walls.
And a close up of one of the intake valves.
And just for comparison I had my 300,000 km 98 Toyota Tacoma truck apart for a timing belt/water pump replacement so it got a look inside also
Intake valves on the Tacoma
It's run a steady diet of regular gas from the same local independent supplier, which I've asked and been told is Chevron. Haven't used any ring free with it. Most of the time the Tenere gets it fuel from the same place, although I do try to run the premium in the Tenere.
