Fix to seat troubles on the tall setting - am i missing something?

So, i ride with the seat on the tall setting, i am about 20stone so put a fair load on the seat. I first noticed a problem when my seat starting getting harder to remove, the rubbers on the base of the seat were getting stuck on the raised 'towers' on the plastic seat height adjustment 'bracket'.

When i started to look into it i realised that only four of the six rubbers on the underneath of the seat actually rest on anything when the seat is in the high position. In the low position all six rest on the frame and brackets. The rear most two rubbers don't touch anything - at least on my bike.

So the trouble seemed to be that my weight was now being spread across only four rubbers and they were not up to the job.

So i cut up a piece of timber to the right shape/size, and then wrapped it in tape, then cable tied it in place, now all six rubbers rest on something in the high position, the seat is firmer and it comes off more easily, here's the fix:

Is anyone else having this problem or able to tell me i'm being stupid thinking this is really a bit poor on such an expensive bike?

I heard something about the seat by others on this forum only, didn't really understand the issue. As to your fix; I have seen some cheap, but effective fixes on bikes way more expensive than ours. (at least in the US). We'll have to resurrect this thread when more of the North American group gets their bikes. In the mean time, I'm interested in hearing from those that already have one. Maybe it's not an issue for all riders.

Simon,

I am going to need that booster piece for my seat also. Can you give us the exact dimensions needed so those full-size people among us can prepare pieces?

Thanks.
