Tobasco, did you mount the same as psyduck? I'm going to work on mine this weekend.
No... I had them on my FJR.. I took them off to add to the Tenere but they are so darn big I never really found a spot on the bike I liked.. When I go to Alaska and Mexico / South America I will probably have them hooked up with a quick release system and hook them to my crash bars.. But I dont need or want them on there 24 / 7... My LED BAJA Designs lights are awesome for "USA" light... lol

I have a set of those BAJA Fuego HID "Flame throwers"... Doesn't get much brighter or powerful that that... Take some night pictures and show the guys on the forum how far these can light up... Its crazy... :D
Tried my best with my limited picture taking capabilities... Uploaded 17'' pictures so you can see the difference a bit better.

Standard Low beams (which are pretty good):

Add fog lights for throw some lights into the lower part:

Add standard high beams:

And here we go - let there be light:

I am pointing the Solteks more or less into the middle of the road - to not blind oncoming traffic completely if I do forget to turn them off.

Thanks for the pictures. That is really serious light. I'm anxious to get mine mounted. I would prefer to have them tucked in and right under the turn signal. I'm going to order a set of the PIAA brackets for each side and have a two point connection off the Altrider crash bars. I'm then going to try to find a third point that mounts to the frame. This should make the rigid. It will take me awhile to get this done as I have some other projects, but will post pictures when complete.

UPDATE: Well.... the PIAA brackets did not hold. Definitively not the way to go. Those reviews on Amazon were right: THEY BREAK.

The diameter of the swiveling 'axle' is just not cutting it. I hit my buddies pannier and ping, one Soltek was hanging on it's power cables.

Looking for a different way to mount them out of harms way.

Alan - did you mount yours yet? How?

The PIAA Bracket are definitely week. The stem from the bracket which fits around the crash bar to the mount is only about 1/4" aluminum. I have designed some brackets and hacking on them now. Just finished my wiring. Going to add the fuel tank bulkhead while I have the plastic off. Then back to the brackets. Hopefully a couple of weeks.

SOLTEK HID Mounts

I finally got the Soltek Fuego's mounted. You can find pictures near the bottom of my web page http://www.bopisolutions.com/Tenere/tenere.htm

I used 1/4 x 1 steel. If they rust, I'll redo with 1/4 x 1" aluminum, make my own "PIAA" mounts and weld them to the bracket instead of bolting.

As noted, I will extend the inside of the bracket to tie into the plastic so I don't have to depend on the crash bar clamp for rotation around the crash bar and movement up and down the crash bar.

Pleased. Got the lights up under the turn signals where I wanted.

Note I did not use the bracket that comes with the PIAA bracket. They give a 3/8" bolt and the bracket is cut down to 3/16" It is a piece of crap. This is why I mounted on the side of the crash bar instead of on top.

Nice job on mounting the Solteks. Keep the pictures coming! I might attempt something similar.

While I browsed your farkle site (WOW - thanks for all the links) I stumbled over the AmpliRider. I am currently using a MixIt. It works fine (only a tiny bit of noise), but I would much prefer a tugged away version like the Amplirider provides. I was even thinking of soldering a new volume potentiometer to the MixIt. The Amplirider would be a slick solution though.

You claimed that you got rid of the Amplirider due to noise. Did you try different locations for it? Maybe even tapping into power at different locations (as far away from the ignition electronics as possible)? Or maybe the most important question: What are you going to use instead of the Amplirider?

Or something like this:

My friend boB has an Aplirider and has had no issues. The guy sent me a noise isolator and it is tolerable so I'm going to leave it on as a backup for the Sena.

The final design on the lights will have a 3/8" diameter bar that will go from bracket to bracket. I will then weld a mount that ties in under the front fairing where my LED's are mounted. This will take care of the last two degrees of freedom by preventing the lights from rotating around the crash bars and keep them from sliding forward. Hope to work with the welder on Friday.

These are really big lights and need something pretty substantial.
