My first offroad trip was really special, because i travel everywhere with my wife´s ashes

We where a group of 6 bikes, almost KTM 990 R and 1 BMW F800GS (and my S10)
I only knew one of the pals, the others was our first meet

Starting from Santiago (main Chilean city) riding about 200 kms to north direction, here we met with other pals from the chilean coast (Valparaiso sea port), here we start the offroad trip, first i started to know my bike on the dirt road, i was a little worry about the ABS and TC... the TC at mode 2 some of the road and last it was in off mode
The ABS was really great, i only felt it one time, an it was cool... braking the bike at the dirt was awsome!!!!

My bike was the fastest bike on the offroad, none of the KTM can follow my ride... it was a nice sensation ::012::::022::

This video is my first dirtride!!!... awsome!!!

Glad you enjoyed that bit of dirt road malarkey .... always fun. Good to see that the Tenere stood up ... shame the KTM went down. You travel with your wife's ashes .... that's pretty special.

cool videos...the terrain looks a lot like our mountains down here in the Arizona desert ...that guy who fell should have been watching where he was going instead of looking back and hitting the marbles

That looks FANTASTIC !!! I cant wait to ride South America.. That is a dream of mine ! The last time I was in SA we flew into Peru, Then we flew over to Cusco and then drove to Juliaca, and then to Puno... In Puno they had a teacher labor strike and shut down the air port.. We where stuck like chuck, we then rented a van and raced over the Andes Mountains back to Arequipa... All though we where in a car, truck, plane, bus, I could see a TON of great motorcycle adventure roads and routs.. I could spend years down there !!!!!!! Love it !

Thanks for posting ! ::008::

Excellent Thanks ::001::

I now know I can hold my breath for 5 minutes and 41 seconds. I thought you were going to take a shortcut down the ravine a few times there.

Great stuff. I come riding with you one day. Just give me a few hours head start OK. :D

That's what they are for. To add more padding to the story. They serve as a valuable edition to any campfire discussion.

Otherwise it would get boring, just like this forum. We need stuff like that.

Anyway back to the usual..

Bloody traction control. POS YAMAHA. :D

Well I can understand that. It's a typical KTM riders reaction when they see a "road bike" like the Tenere trying to pass.

Their brain locks up. Typical shock response. Everything goes in slow motion and they get all weak, therefore unable to control the bike.

You must have sympathy.

Here in SA we have plenty of roads like this... for example the roads at the videos are about 2.000 kms south from Peru, so we have only in Chile over 5.000 kms of offroad over the Andes Mountain and at Atacama Desert, some of this roads are ride by the Dakar pilots at the race (this weekend we met a guy with a KTM, practicing for the Dakar race)

Some know how to disconnect permanently the Traction Control?, i tried to get off some fuse, but it didn´t work... i was tired to press the buttom to change mode every time i begin my ride - the ABS i find it very cool, i never rode an "ABS bike" before, and in all the trip only jump one time the ABS

Whenever you come here in Chile let me know so i can help you in every way!!! (i know everything you need to know here in Chile!!!! ::001::)

Here some more videos... ::017::

(here is the KTM falling without any cut or censorship ;))

(Here i rode behind a BMW F800GS that looks like a police bike... with that blinking red led!!!, i found funny that he was braking over the entire road... his rear brake was on fire!!!! ::025:: - later i teach him how to take a curve!)
