... I have a wedding to go to in the States. I will need a place to leave the bike, probably for around a month. Can someone help me with that? I think I'll be flying out of Stansted, so the closer to there the better. But of course beggars can't be choosers, so if I can't get somewhere close-ish to Stansted it doesn't matter.

Another thing, but maybe related... I need to do a major service on the bike. Pretty sure I will need to do a valve adjust, I had two slightly tight exhausts last time I checked... but didn't adjust them. Anyone have a workshop I can use? And some skills to help me do the job? I'm an OK mechanic, but not confident tackling this particular job on my own.

Alternatively, can anyone recommend a good mechanic who can do it for me?

From the UK I'll be heading East - I hate to say it, but it's The Long Way Round (ha ha). UK will be the last decent service to get me through the middle east and Asia.

Thanks in advance!

Trevor

anyone riding a bike, is usually more than willing to help you out.

If nothing comes out, I do know a fellow that has a house in the UK, but is currently working in Spain...

In the UK everywhere is close to everywhere else ::008::

You could drop your bike into Alf England who prepared Nick Saunders S10 for his America record trip and did the engine strip down afterwards.

I would also recommend my local Indie as being reliable and very competitively priced, no longer a main dealer, but they will do what you ask properly and at a good rate, something I fear many main dealers do not do so well.

My local Yamaha dealer is a big Multi-Franchise outfit, and probably as good as these types of outfits get, the main benefit is you may be able to fill the day of the service riding a load of demo's and they have courtesy bikes so you could go for a days riding around the Cotswolds or into Wales whilst they service your bike:

I too would steer well clear of Fowlers, heard many bad stories - first hand as well as forum rants.
