Hi there,

Just wanted to share with you the feedback on the Shoei Hornet X2....I was on the fence for many years looking for a long oval dual sport helmet that will fit my alien head...the only helmet that managed to accommodate my head was the Arai Signet Q....
I tried the Shoei Hornet X2 from the very first moment the fit felt soooooo great! And I used the same size L...absolutely love it!! And the bonus point is the weight: 1560g for a size L!

Anyone struggling with long oval headshape should give shoei hornet x2 (EU version) a try!

Cheers

I was always under the impression that the Shoei was an intermediate oval. The only luck I've had has been the LS2 dual sport helmets. Glad you found the elusive unicorn for us big headed individuals. Ride safe

I was under the same impression and I was going for the LS2 explorer...tried one at the shop and found it a bit heavy and the L did not fit me at all (had a deep red mark on my forehead after 3 min at the shop despite L saying 59-60cm which is the same for my old Arai Signet Q)...tried the XL and it had a too big shell for me...

Shoei felt so good and they have a single shell size for L

My lesson learned is just to try all of then...if it says intermediate oval and you are a long oval jus give it a try...you might find your treasure the same way I did

Thanks for that P81, will be on the lookout for one here. I see you're in Morocco, where abouts? Always seemed to be an amazing country for travel. You're so close to some epic riding. Be safe

Yes that is correct through I am currently in Spain with the little family on a car trip.
Morocco indeed offers a lot of amazing trails being mountains, sand, snow, hard-core offroad, etc...

Once I finish this current trip I will go on a motorbike offroad trip with a friend on mine, planning to do "cirque of jaffar" and other off road trails in that region..

Cheers

Does anyone know if this is the same as the Shoei Hornet sold in the US? I don't have a specific need for a dual sport helmet but I do have a long oval head shape. Icon Airmada is the best-fitting helmet I've owned but it's now discontinued and I worry about what I'm going to replace it with when the time comes.

Just an update after using the helmet for a long distance trip under 40C temperature....it is SUPER SUPER comfortable! And I TRULY don't understand how venting works because it is so effective even in slow speed situation that I am extremely impressed! Shoei hornet for the rest of my riding life!!!
