I have a 2019 ES (Cdn model) with 25K km, and since the weather is starting to get nice on the west coast here in the great white north, I decided to get a few maintenance items done for riding season.

I put on a set of new tires, then took the bike out to warm it up before I changed the oil (engine and final drive). Everything felt fine and bike ran well during my ~15 min ride.

After I had it nice and warm, I came home and changed the engine and final drive oil (Rotella T4 and Mobil 1 75-90 synthetic). Everything that came out looked good, and after I had all the fluids changed, I started 'er up, and put it in gear while on the center stand just to get things circulating.
Although I realize the S10 is known for making some "unique" sounds, unless I just plain missed it before, the "clunking" noise coming from the final drive seems new, and to my (admittedly untrained) ear, it doesn't sound right.

I'm hoping some of the more finely calibrated eardrums here on the forum might be willing to comment on whether this sounds normal, or if it's something I should look into further?

Appreciate any insight

You're welcome. Here's a post that mentions the issue. Tabasco, who is pretty much the S10 guru on this site, says it's a normal sound when you put the bike in gear on the center stand.

I was reading through a couple other similar threads, but the video in the one you linked is especially useful since it sounds very similar to mine.
Thanks again.

It’s that uneven firing 270° crankshaft banging the collective driveline lashes back and forth. With the tire on the ground and the bike’s driveline under load this is damped out.

Thanks Jeff. I guess I'd never noticed it since I don't normally put it in gear on the center stand.
Glad to find out it's a known issue and not really a problem.
Appreciate all the feedback!!!!
