::026:: Yep... have known that for over a year from Yamaha ! There are are Hot-Rod V-Max's with well over 200 with stock rear end...... We can do what we want to ours.... Motor has more in it too ! ;)

Don't be fooled by the above "no turner garage queen" this is the KING of nasty fast. >:D

Suzuki B-King and it's chain drive all the way with no frictional HP losses through a shaft :))

Vmax's are in fear of them trust me I know first hand. ;)

I'm not 100% sure, but I thought the FJR and V Max shared the same rear drive.
They are the only Yamaha shafts to require the $28 Yamaha rear drive oil.

Thanks,

It looks a lot better now. No more pipe frame or license plate hanging anymore and soon to be no under tail exhaust. Replacing with a Brocks full system alien head. I already have some ECUeditor tune on it and as soon as the full system goes on we go full tilt boogey with some more fuel and intake air. It's a beast!! The 1340cc Busa engine is so friggin smooth and powerful. Suzuki is sitting on a diamond of a power plant and could have a super sport tourer like no other if they'd open their wallet and create one with this engine.

2nd gear at 70 mph, nail it and it'll stand straight up and go through 4th gear well over 125 mph ::001::

who was worried about it to start with ::)
I think he's referring to other threads. I remember somebody posting about how they thought the power restriction in the 1st three gears was there to save the final drive. :D

... and I know you remember people sweating about how the final drive was "hot" after a ride...no kidding! ;D

BTW guys, for kicks, I decided to go up on the V-Max, FJR, and S10 fiche sites to see how much part commonality there is between the final drives. I didn't cross-ref every part, but except for a few minor hardware items (like the axle nut), there is essentially none. All the major hardware items - shaft, ring gear, case, bearings, thrust washers, etc. - are different on all three bikes. And while the designs are similar, they are completely different in the details, especially the S10 which is quite different from the FJR and V-Max.

This whole "share the same final drive" thing appears to be urban legend to me.

Oh no should I start to panic now or can I wait till after christmas? Should we all consider selling our s10s now we know yamaha no doubt used inferior materials for our bikes?
