Well the Storm needed a new headlight due to a bulb self destructing and wrecking the internals .... reflector, lens and internal finishing. So ordered a second hand part on ebay. Damn thing had the corner ground off as a result of accident damage. Iwas seen off with that one .... very displeased. Spent ages polishing it out. It's now on the bike and looking good enough .... like a small fault in the moulding process. Mustn't lose sight of the fact that this is a sacrificial bike for the winter. I've stripped the old unit with a view to upgrading it to projector unit. Shouldn't be too difficult ... famous last words hey ::)

I just don't want the hassle m8. It looks OK .... 99% of people wouldn't even notice it. I'm just a bit of a perfectionist. Bloody nuisance though .... wasted a lot of time.

The positive to come out of it is that you can recover plastic lenses or screens if you put in the effort.

When wiring up accessories, I like it to look as close to factory as possible. I don't like bare wires showing all over the place. I like to Zip-Tie wires to existing harnesses with heat shrink on it, or wire-loom protector.

Now that detail, I like it, you can't beat a smart proffesional finish.

Spent a couple of pleasant hours wiring up the brute in order to take my heated gloves. It's now fully winterised :)

Yesterday I made the mistake of using a pair of grip heater wraps .... forgot just how sh*te those things are. No heat troller .... just on/off .... hot/cold ..... way too darn hot. The palms of your hands are being gently zorched whilst the backs of your hands are experiencing -10C of wind chill. Messes up your head that does.

Might opt for a pair of them there funky Tocano Urbano neoprene bar muffs .... not the whackin' gr8 big things but the little jobbies that scooterists use.

Been sorting the Storm all day. Had to drill out a seized bolt .... that's a taxing little job. Anyway, it's all good now ;D Replaced the the brake lines. The suspension needs to be sorted next .... that'll be done when I take it off the road in the spring, new progressive spring and everything. Lowers will be powder coated too.
