I've got a Fenda-extenda in my farkle bin, ready to install - but had not considered a mud flap as well. Did you install the Fenda-extenda with the supplied with hardware and/or silicone adhesive?

I ordered it from our friends at Twisted Throttle. I've also seen it on ebay with free shipping.

Side on shot as requested. Looks to be about 3/4's of an inch clearance for the tyre / flap. The F/ext was installed by the dealer using the provided self tappers - when i have done them myself, i have drilled the existing fender and used small set screws, as i have done with the flap.

I just can't fetch myself to drill a perfectly good fender. I have seen an article whereby they use specialist adhesives to affix the extension piece. I've got one for my FJR just can't bring myself to fit it. ::)

I have a Fenda Extenda on my Tiger. I didn't bother with the screws, instead I bought a tube of plastic epoxy and glued it on. I don't think it's coming off.

They are worth their weight in gold, MUCH less garbage thrown up on the engine.

I'm with you - I'll glue mine on with some sort of super-bonding adhesive. 8)

Both the fender and the extender are made from ABS plastic. You can buy ABS glue at the hardware store. Should work well.

I'm going to play devils advocate here. I purchased a fenda extender as well, but I'm a little Leary about gluing it on. What if for some reason you wanted to take it off. Then you would have an ugly glue stain on you fender. If done right and you screwed it on, you could take it off and put some small rubber caps to hide the holes.

I'm only asking because I've never used one before. Maybe it'll stay on for the life of the bike.

The extender fits on the inside of the bikes fender, so even if you were to take it off, any residual glue stain would not be noticeable.

If you put it on with ABS cement you won't be taking it off. Cut it off maybe. I'll use ABS cause I don't want it to come off ever.

+1 ABS cemnt chemically "welds" the prices together, assuming you prepped them properly.

I've had a fenda extenda on my Vee for 36k+ miles and never had a problem with it glued on. I used JB weld and it was on for good.

Now I'm not too proud to tell you all this but it was embarrasing at the time. I used super strength double sided tape to fix one to a TDM900. It looked good and seemed perfectly fixed ... I rode the bike with it's lovely new extenda the next morning in heavy traffic. Stopped at the lights between two cars .... the damn thing dropped off and I couldn't get off of the bike to pick it up because I was too tightly positioned between the cars. When the lights changed I just had to run it over along with about ten other bikes .... it was like killing a puppy :'(
