For a more extreme ride in the cold climates, check out Sjaak's adventure that is about to begin. He's riding from Pt Barrow, AK to Key West, FL on a Yamaha R1. And, he rides the snow and ice on a 2 wheeler - around the world - no need for side cars with this guy.
