While riding in sand the other day, I was getting a lot of sand thrown up into my face, even while standing. I know Pyramid makes an extender that has been well received, but it is my understanding that it doesn't paly well with the Rumbux system. Is there another alternative?

Seems doubtful that the sand in your face was off the rear of the tire/fender. My theory is a pot full of sand was being flung off the front of the fender, partly due to the close tolerances fender to tire, the sand has no place to 'fall' off except straight forward and up.

Hmm, that's interesting. I just assumed it was coming up from the area between the tank and the tree. I was so focused on what was ahead, I didn't really spend much time looking down to see the actual source. I'll pay closer attention this weekend.

Have fun! ::008::
In the early days... there was a gent working up a neoprene boot for that area to add some air flow control. With the 'hand check method' (which must look odd to fellow road users ::025:: ) I never really notice that much air flow there, even at speed.

Not sand and not a Tenere but... I installed a short (nose) front fender on my Gen 1 KLR. Took a trip to Moab UT and was on a US-50 in a rain storm. The front fender would toss the water forward and up then I would would ride through it. I was creating my own wall of water to ride through. Guessing you were doing the same with sand and your Tenere.

Signature KLR wet riding. Fond memories, even.

A KTM front fender cured the water issue and added cool factor.
