You know how it is with winter riding. It's cold in the PNW and with fog overnight and throughout the day, black ice rears it's ugly head frequently.

I live on a ridge, so I'm a couple hundred feet in elevation. Easy to encounter sketchy riding conditions around this area...

Of course, none of this mattered to me! I never left the house!

The bike never left the garage...

But I did order a Helinox camp chair and a set of Happy Trails Teton panniers... (9", clif cut, black) ...and a new throttle lock, too... ::015::

Geez..you had me worried :D
Spend away. It's probably not really comparable as we bored canucks have 6 months to oogle the internet, and see what we can charge the visa to.

You forget I'm from the Great White North, too. I recall the days of frost bite while chipping ice from my car with a beaver all too well! Of lighting a fire under the oil pan of my diesel before starting it. Of playing hockey on a table top game because unlike the rest of the world who thinks its quaint to play pond hockey, Canadians know how cold it really is! I recall the wisdom of curling... a game played on ice, while drinking, inside a building so the temperature remains cool, not cold.

Yeah, days like today can be expensive. 8-12" of the white stuff.
Just when I got done personalizing my Harley, I went out and bought a Super 10.
Now I'm sitting here looking at crash bars, skid plates, aux lighting, and other goodies.

Man, I was already starting to cringe thinking about what must have happened on that black ice to cost you so much. Good job. You momentarily got me to forget about the 7" of snow I've been out plowing for the last hour...thank you.

I can relate, dammit...
It's blowing snow here again and supposed to be a -40 windchill tonight.
So I got on the phone and ordered a set of Yamaha panniers and heated grips!
Now I need to pick a skid plate and anything else I can think of to make my first ride as good as it can get.
Lets hope that isn't in June :(

You know you might be spending too much time and money on the internet if the sound of the UPS or FedEx truck make your heart beat faster...

Too funny. Oddly enough I travelled 14 hours today, and it's just as cold here (South Boston VA).
Oh well, California at the end of Feb....can't wait.
And only one more shipment coming from twisted throttle...

cannot wait.

Well heck just as well throw in my 2 cents from NW WY. Drove to Billings this morning in a freakin' blizzard. I'm still shopping for my first S10 - gonna keep the KLR. Found one in Billings but the dealer is WAY too proud of it. we did manage to stay around freezing all day. Sure wish it would kill those bird size mosquitos!

You need to lasso up some of those mozzies and train them to hunt the scent of a good S10 for ya! :) Good luck with the shopping! When you land your whale, you'll have us beat hands down for most expensive day rights. :D

May hold out a while longer. Hate the grey color. Don't like the white either. Mine runs so dam good. Had her out for a 100km ride a few days ago. May even wait till next year now. ::001::
