I love it. This bike is my primary transportation, weekend warrior, soon to be camping machine. I feel like I get the most out of the suspension because I can change settings on the fly.
Hit the canyons new years day and changed the settings 6 or 7 times going from cruising to carving and back. Really feel like I'm getting my money's worth. Not to mention led's and heated grips.
I loved it on my 5,000+ mile trip to Colorado and back to New York. On the slab putting it on SOFT took out all the jolts and made the ride comfortable. While on the Blue Ridge Parkway I used firm/hard. It made the bike seem very quick regarding the steering, etc. With the cruise control/heated grips/electronic suspension/shaft drive...and great riding position...it is a wonderful bike.
It is a great addition. I like the flexibility of changing from hard on pavement to soft for off road to two up riding just by making changes with your left hand.
Let me put it this way: I've had tons of bikes including '08 and '12 Goldwings and this bike trumps them all in ride quality especially with the ES suspension. I've been experimenting with the different settings since I'm a lightweight ~ 137 #s and have found the single helmet and soft (at 0) to be very plush on the slab. I'm still experimenting when my daughter rides with me but so far I've found the 2 helmets and std 0 to be near plush. I may try 1 helmet and luggage and go through the damping options.
I can't find any specs about the max load with the ES. I saw a guy buy a non-ES so he could get a bigger spring. I am 210 and my wife is 140. Is this too much for the ES in stock form? My wife won't ride a lot but if we do decide to go for a weekend I don't want to be draggin. Thanks for the help.
