Not as yet, it is in the process of being stripped down. Mr. Yamaha took it fir exploration, and I will be invited to visit at some point. But it only left here on Thursday the 24th.Any new info on what actually happened ? From the original poster / Yamaha ? Photos?
Took it? Like they loaded it and drove away ? Did they only take the motor, or whole bike? Not as yet, it is in the process of being stripped down. Mr. Yamaha took it fir exploration, and I will be invited to visit at some point. But it only left here on Thursday the 24th.

I think the first will be “investigate”. Curious about the outcome like the rest of you. What is their plan? Replace, repair, charge you, or cover it?
You have to work on them and don't let up.. Get your mechanic to push the buttons for a complete rebuild. It took me over a year and a class A service manager from Bobby J's to wake up mother Yamaha to fix my engine rev stall wiring issue. Brought the scratching heads from California to New Mexico to fix it FREE!!I would see what Mother Yamaha thinks about it. They may show some love, which means they will get the parts or engine for you. Such an odd failure, they may want it for analysis at the factory, which means they usually will give you a new engine.
It's a GMC what do you expect.. My friends had 65 SS Impala that would drink a gallon of the recycled aviation oil just going to school and back. One day it just blew a rod.In 1970 I had a 56 olds that got about 100 miles a quart. Holiday gas stations had remanufactured oil for 19¢ a quart! It did keep the mosquitoes away!
Also the left connecting rod broke, but not horizontally, vertically. Which was how the engine was still starting and running. So I was told today that 1 of the 10 clutch plates (No 6) simply disintegrated. Which then somehow was sucked up through the intake, and literally just raked havoc. The question being answered now is, was it a faulty plate to begin with, or was it inserted incorrectly! See pics.
Now, it's been awhile since I replace clutch plates, but, I didn't think there was a front or back to them. I thought they were the same on both side. So, I would vote for defective/faulty plate. I had an '83 Dodge Rampage that had an exploding clutch plate; faulty material. (yeah, I know, not the same situation). . . . The question being answered now is, was it a faulty plate to begin with, or was it inserted incorrectly! See pics.
I always wondered who actually bought these back in the day!I had an '83 Dodge Rampage
