Good afternoon,

My name is Mike, just picked up my new raven S10 last thursday. Traded in my 2011 wee strom for it and am loving it so far. I am in full blown farkle mode!

Question is I am planning on addidng

1) oxford heated grips
2) twisted throttle stebel air horn from my wee ... came with wire harness and relay
3) power line to run from battery to my tank bag, I also use this as my battery tender lead
4) denali micro led or rigid light bar for added lighting
5) heated gear line

What is the best way to wire in these farkles? My buddy told me I could tap into a stock heated grip line that the bike has under fairing...

Id like to keep most of these items on switched power. should I use a fuse panel .... where should it be mounted?? And where in the hell can I mount that dam horn...lol

Any advice or pics of personal installs would be great!!

thanks!!

Mike

Depending on how fancy you want to get....

- Heated grips can use the stock harness
- lights can use the stock harness
- everything else should be fuse panel

You can get all these parts (and more) from eastern beaver

ya what Johnny said.

there's a 1001 way to wire the electrical, but you should use a realay to drive any of the major loads, off a switched source.
For the stiebel, separtate the horn from the compressor, and install the horn around one of your forks. I'll take a picture tonight if I don't forget.
The compressor lives where the stock tools used to sit. You can use the stock wiring for the horn, no need for the relay (at least that's how mine is wired...I think)

I did the same thing with the horn and I installed a fuse block. Do not go with the Denali lights I just replaced mine with the rigid lights.

yeah I hear ya, I have two sets of the denali D2, had some initial growing pains with them, they seem good now.
I do have a set of rigid D2's on my car, and boy oh boy are they good.

I'd look at getting the PC-8 fuse block from Jim @ Eastern Beaver. Awesome guy.

Here's one option for mounting that under the seat:

If you don't like that location, many have cut the little plastic bit out under the right side fairing and velcro'd theres there. That's what I did.

Best of luck!

Welcome on Mike from NY. Congrats on the new bike. If you'll post under Member Intros, you're more likely to be found out by the rest of the crew and receive a warm welcome. Post us some pics when you can. ::004:: to the Forum. R. ::022::

Just install a pc8 or a fuzeblock and call it a day. Everything is then just plug and play. Both those brands fit nicely under the upper side panel.
And yes you will find the pigtails for plug n play light and heated grips under the side cover.

Using the search box on the forum home page gets 30 hits for "air horn" and most have how others have done it.
http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?action=search2

Of course, if you use the search box from within a thread, such as this one, the only results will be the thread and it'll look like you are the first ever.

Welcome aboard!
