In the meantime my ECU is still a stock so I'll send it to Ed.
If you aint had the flash and you want it I cant recommend Ed and AF1 highly enough. I called them a couple times as I am very hesitant about this kind of stuff. Patient, accommodating etc. And I aint ever even been in the store. I plan to go there next year when I go down for GP.

For those with the Gen1 flashes. Send them in and get the reflash. It's that good. I had the Gen1 for 20000 miles and was underwhelmed with it. A little better than stock, but nothing to Bragg about. Gen2 is just the opposite. Transformed the way the bike accelerates. Don't mind saying now that it was money well spent.

You don't even have to call AF1. Ed responds to your email promptly. He even prefers that method because it allows him to multitask (He has a nice workbench that usually has some exotic Italian machine on it getting configured for some racer in another country)

To talk on the phone requires him to stop whatever he is doing and go into the office.

You are in good hands with AF1. Just fill out the form. Email Ed and let him know it's coming.

Then relax. :)

Good to hear from the guys with Gen1 that Gen2 is a major upgrade. I only know Gen2. Underwhelmed would not be a word anyone would use to describe it. The bike gets real crisp. Revs through the gears like a completely different bike. Horribly addictive.

Z06... is your bike stock... I have forgotten.....

I would really be interested in hearing results between the Gen I VS Gen II from the guys that have muffler, headers, PCV, air filter, Etc.... If any of those "mod" guys are out there will you write your thoughts between the 1-2 ?
Im reading many positive reports, but I believe most of the guys have pretty much a stock 'motor'.......

Jaxon,

Mine is out getting Gen II right now. I'll let you know the results or swing by so you can take the bike for a spin.

Stock except for no cat and Leo slipon. You and I had discussed how small the change was with the Gen 1 flash. I wasn't impressed. The Gen2 rocks. I prefer to ride most of the time with TC off. Going to kill rear tire life. ;D Send it in.
BTW After I filled out the online form I had no more contact with them and everything went smooth.

My tracking confirmed delivery 5/02 to ECUnleashed. I've not heard a word from them.
Never returned a single email. I don't care if they charge me. Just let me know WTF they
are doing.

I sent them an email. I did not fill out the online stuff. I included the bike registration for vin# and
made the notes on that form about the bike being stock and that AF-1 did the original reflash.
I taped my buisness card to the ECU and put a return shipping label and cash for postage.

I guess I'll do it backward now an try filling out the online form and tell the they have my ECU.
I just keep thinking it will show up in the mail. Hopeless optimist I guess. ;)

I just got a reply that they received my online order form and to go ahead and ship them my ECU.

::018::

I'll be interested to hear from your pluric if you don't receive an email after filling out their online order form.

Others have already reported the results of the Gen2 flash.

I will only say this; My fuel mileage AFTER I left AF1 dropped to 31-33 mpg. Holy cow this thing RIPS!!!!
[/quote]

I am still stock and reading the reported results as they trickle in. Do you mean the flash lowered your MPG or the addiction of turning the throttle with the new found power caused it? Just trying to get good data. I am very familiar with having to fight the thrill of power and loosing the battle of decent MPG (eg.. Multi12).

I knew it. I knew it. I knew it

As soon as I became a whiney ass on this site the ECU would arrive.
I owe a large apology to ECUnleashed. Even if their communication sucks, THEY DELIVERED THE GOODS!

The box was on my porch when I came home. Had to run to my daughters birthday dinner so got it installed
a little late. Running around the neighborhood it is a very noticable improvement over the original reflash.
I never thought there was a huge difference between Touring and Sport mode. There is now and I can actually
see me maybe using Tour mode sometimes. It just launches from 3K on. Big grins. Never got it above 4th gear
so I'll have to do a little freeway run when I get a minute.

I removed the clutch jumper. No stall on the bottom end. I want to go run off against the BMW that kicked my ass
the last time. :)

I realy hope the flash doesn't decrease my fuel mileage. I am regularly getting 44mpg around here. I think i should jsut turn off the ave fuel meter on the bike and just drive.

MPG is what I have been concerned about also, just can't seem to get any reports from someone that took a trip with the new flash. Maybe soon, as the wx is nice. Going to Mena, Ar. this weekend myself, but on the Strada.

I think the biggest decrease in fuel mileage that people are reporting is self inflicted. The flash's new "benefits" are increasing ham fisted throttle use, which results in lower MPG.. I don't think the new flash is less efficient and just dropping MPG --- ::26:: ::26:: ::26::

Feel me?

Lol.....

Took another ride this morning. To me MPG is what it is. The "Ham Fisted" comment rings true. ::008::

I'm like a teenager getting it to about 4k rpm and wacking it on. Look around for police and do it again. :)

The first time I had it at sea level I remember posting how I'd hoped the original reflash would make it
feel like that. It didn't. This gen 2 thing is getting close for us high altitude wheezers.

Doesn't matter why. I'm just saying that after the flash, I'm never gonna get the mileage I was getting tooling around. It's just not possible to rein myself in.

On long runs, MAYBE I will find out if there is any real change between oem and flash mpg. But on long runs I never got good mileage. Where I live the speed limits are 75mph. And you gotta go 80-85 mph (indicated) or you are getting passed.

80-90 indicated is the norm. 4500rpm+

This beast is thirsty at those revs. Always has been.

I get REALLY good mileage, reported on the panel, when I'm coasting to a stop. :)

PLuric,
I hear you, but with this F'd up area I am living in, traffic and "free whacking throttle" areas are few and faaaaar between. At least on the west side of the mtns here. From what I have seen in SLC and UTah area, there are plenty of places to whack at will. Wait, the Grande StairCase Escalante did get me busted one sunday morning in the middle of nowhere.
