Have you had that verified or is it a hunch?Well I think my ECU is fried, anyone else ever had this issue, curious if this is a common problem.
So looking for a used ecm part number 2BS-8591A-30.
Does anyone know if it comes pre-flashed or not?
Well been following the service manual and think I have done every thing they asked up to this point. I have checked all the fuses, verified power and ground to the modules, have pinged the earth and power circuits for continuity. Also checked continuity on the two CAN circuits from front to back and between all the modules. Not sure what else I can do to rule other things out?Have you had that verified or is it a hunch?
The service manual that you read is the same one that the official Yamaha mechanics read...if you don't read "reflash" in the manual...the official mechanics don't read it either...it only reads "change ecu"... that is, the software is already preloaded from the factoryI guess I dont know for sure. Certainly you can buy the ECU from any dealer and they will ship it to you, my assumption is that it is pre-flashed at the factory. I checked models from 2014-2018, basically any year that had ES suspension and they all have the same part number, are they the same calibration I dont know. I guess it is possible you install the new ECU and then the dealer has to use the Yamaha factory diag tool to flash the right calibration. Be nice to get someone to chime in who is a yamaha tech or works at a dealer.
If the failure of The communication is in the CAN network….one way to know if the network is ok….is to measure the resistance between the two digital signals….it should give you 120ohms…..if there is no resistance….the network is open. Usually the network is closed at one point and at that point there is a 120ohm resistor…..when the network is open (no resistance), the scanner can't read the ecuAlso checked continuity on the two CAN circuits from front to back and between
