I just purchased a PC-8 fuse panel and the appropriate harness that includes a 30 amp relay. I currently have a Denali air horn hooked up to a 30 amp relay and then power from the battery to the relay. Can I now eliminate the relay on the Denali and wire the horn direct to the PC-8 since the PC-8 is relay protected? Will this protect my S10 horn switch from overload?

I assume the relay for the pc8 is off a wire that is hot with the key. If you hook the home directly to the pc8 either the horn will also be on with the key, or the rest of the relayed pc8 stuff will only be on with the horn switch.

Annoying either way!

I have not hooked up horns yet, but run all my electric stuff through a PCM-60 block (seat, USB charger, Garmin, SPOT GPS). When I do this, I do not use any of the fuses or relays that come with the items.

Make sure that the Amp rating for the horn (which will be high) can be handled by your fuse block, as that seemed to be the important thing for me when I was reading about this stuff.

No, don't eliminate the relay. The horn draws about 20A when you're honking it. I'm assuming that since you went to the trouble of installing an add-on fuse box that you plan on having other electrical stuff going on. The PC-8 can handle 20A max on any one circuit, with 60A max (40A switched 20A un-switced). If you were, for example, running at night with driving lights and heated gear, it is not inconceivable that you could max out the panel when adding the horn. Even if you don't, the horn is one accessory I just always leave out off the fuse panel. On top of all of that, the relay in the fuse panel will be 'on' the entire time the bike is switched on. The point of the relay on the horn is to have it not be energized until you actually pushy the horn button.

Wire the horn separately with direct-to-battery power and a 30A relay on the OEM horn circuit.
