DVD maintenance video?

If any of you are former BMW GS owners, then I'm thinking that you might know about Jim von Baden's DVD maintenance video that he puts out for the various years of the R1200 GS. Does anybody know if there is an equivalent DVD maintenance video for the S10 out there. And yes, I know that the S10 doesn't require as much or frequency of maintenance, but as a cheerful tightwad who loves saving money by avoiding the mechanics whenever possible, it sure would be a nice thing to have.

I think most owners tend to get the official Yamaha shop manual, it's a paper version, there are a few on-line retailers selling a DVD version, but they are infringing on copyright laws as they are not official, so if you do go that route, probably best not to mention it here.
From what I understand the workshop manual is well worth the money, sometimes when owners part with their S10, they come up for sale on here.

There's not a video for the Tenere maintenance. There'd probably need to be separate videos for the different generations of bike.

But one of the things this forum has done is to collect threads and photo-document most of the maintenance procedures. The big or common topics have stickies which are organized here:

Thanks, Dogdaze. I'll go with the original and not infringe.

Off topic, but I sure am envious of all the languages I bet you can speak if you're a Swiss native. Every Swiss native I've encountered in person could easily speak five languages. ::003::

I'm afraid I'm not a native Suisse, I do speak English, German and Urdu (don't ask!), but you must have met a rarity as most Suisse like to speak their local dialect, avoid Hoch Deutsch and may speak, when pressed a little English, though they will have a second language, be that French / German / Italian. The natives are extremely territorial about their local dialect. They are for the most part friendly albeit a little wary. I must say that of all the people I've met, only about 20% have been 'real' Swiss, the rest hail from Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Turkey, Croatia and several others.

I'd like to find the DVD version for sell or a downloadable Service manual. Is there such a thing as a downloadable Service version for the Gen 2 ES bikes.

Yamaha sells a paper version. The DVD manuals are clearly bandit copies of those, are illegal, and can lead to a ban here & at most other forums. I don't know of a Yamaha authorized online manual, but maybe somebody else does.

All the legal crap aside good maintenance videos can come in very handy for the doityourselfer , I have a nice set for my Goldwing, I don't use them a lot but it's very handy to be able to take a look at how someone else goes about a job once in a while. I'm sure Fred Harmon the guy who made my Goldwing videos has made a lot of money with his very helpful videos. He also sells videos for the 1400 Kawasaki Concours .

Yes those sound very nice but in my opinion it's just a glorified service manual, the video set I have for my Goldwing actually shows Fred Harmon taking apart and putting back together about everything on a GL1800 Goldwing.

I have removed the post with the link of a manual that @Dogdaze has pointed out to be not legal.

@Cycledude, when I had my BMW a group of use did some maintenance together and one of them had the Jim von Baden DVD. It was great. Just think not enough of a market for our bikes for someone to make one.

Thanks
Mark

I'd be happy to help produce any videos, but since I no longer own a Tenere, it's rather difficult to do at the moment...

My point exactly! I learn best visually, as opposed to trying to follow someone's description of the repair. If that makes me special needs, then guilty as charged!
