I am so used to my other bike and car that has a FOB that I left the key in the Tenere. Must have left it on Acc mode since the battery was totally dead. Tried to jump it but no luck. I took the side panel off and have hooked it up the the Tender/charger. Now hopefully it will just be a matter of waiting until tomorrow to start it up, hopefully I didn't kill the battery.

It can happen to the best of us! I'm willing to bet you will be just fine. Especially if you have the AGM battery. They are very robust and can handle a deep cycling drain or 3.

How many amps is your tender/charger?
As Sierra1 mentioned having a tender/charger that has a desulfate function is a major plus....

So after reading a bunch of conflicting info I hooked it up to my 12 A charger for an hour then reduced it to 2A for an hour and then hooked up my Yuasa 1A charger and maintainer for an hour. Seems to have done the job, the only pain in the butt was getting the positive lead hooked up with that little nut that goes in the back. Not sure if either of them have a desulfate setting but I would think not since I have never noticed it.

Of course while I was working on getting that done I noticed that the licence plate on the bike I have been riding is now gone. Sigh...

Yeah, I hate hooking up the leads on a bike battery. I think Optimate is one of few charger/maintainers that desulfate. My Battery Tenders do not either. You're the second person from Canada with stolen plate.

I have to say that I don't think it was stolen, I am pretty sure it was my fault. I had taken it off and just placed it back on loosely since it is a pain to tighten. When I found that the battery on the Tenere was dead I rushed around to get that one out in time to meet up for a group ride, totally forgot about the plate. Dam I need a vacation...
