DS Raid Toolbox and 2016 model with GIVI removable rack

I got one of these DS toolboxes from Spain.

Presumably the 2014+ model is different but the flat brackets supplied do not suit the recessed nature of the front and rear attachment points. The rear point has what looks like a spacer but is in fact a combined spacer and sleeve. The OD of the sleeve is 16mm so does not fit the long, 12mm slot in the bracket, there would be little metal left if the slot was widened.

To further complicate matters I am using the GIVI removable pannier rack with the Kappa KVenture 37l boxes.

It seems to me, that the only way to attach this toolbox would be to twist each bracket 90 degrees and then use a P clamp to suspend off each of the (added) black GIVI attachment lugs.

Or is there an easier way - other than sending them back ??

Unless you can create a wider gap by adding a spacer for the racks thus allowing the box to fit, but I would be assume only a small amount of leeway is available to do that and still allow the lower bar to connect to the other rack. Always resell it on here or ebay, unless free return policy?
