Met up with a couple of friends and rode down to Bikes, Blues, and BBQ in Fayetteville, AR last week. We took off Tuesday after work and made it about 60 miles North of St. Louis. It was a total lightning show to our South, so we opted to pull the plug and get a hotel for the night. Probably a good thing as there were severe storms and tornado reports with some of them as well. The next morning had more rain, construction, rush hour traffic, and the usual St. Louis BS all wrapped up into one Charlie Fox. The Tenere handled great, but man that fan sure ran a lot. We got about 60 miles South of St. Louis and we were clear of the rain. Smooth sailing the rest of the way there.

Met up with a bunch of other friends from another forum down there. We had rented out a community center for the week and had a great time catching up. I only went down to Dickson St. on Saturday night. Not exactly my type of scene any more, but it's a sight to be seen. I had heard there were over 400,000 bikes there this year.

Got to do a little exploring on some of the back roads as well. I thought it handled great, but I'm a total off road noob, so what do I know. Felt very confidence inspiring to me anyway. Happy Trails panniers came in the day before we left and they worked out great.
