Hi all, I must admit, when I first saw one on an S10, I wasn't convinced. But i like the blacked out look on my S10, despite there being a smidgen of blue still left on the fairings.
Do many use the bagster?

The only ones I've seen have been "over there". I'm guessing it's a weather thing? I think they're cool, 'cuz they remind me of a wet suit.

I've used Baglux/Bagster on many bikes over the years, including the S10 - they are great for touring in Europe - no worries about getting the tank scratched, easy to clip on a tank bag & both bra & TB can be colour coded as desired.

Once, when I had parked up next to a buddy in Zafra Spain (we both had Gen1 Hayabusas at the time), we came out of the Hotel in town, only to find that a whole class of school kids were being lifted on/off our bikes for an impromptu photoshoot. Thank goodness for those Baglux tank bras.

Some riders prefer the tanklock system these days; whatever works best for you.

First time I have ever seen one. So it's like a car bra, but for a motorcycle tank?
The best that I can tell, yes. And, like a car bra, there's gonna be pros & cons to them. My wife had one on her car. Every time the car got washed, so did the bra. Put a thick coat of wax on the paint, and put the bra back on over the wax. And, make sure it's a snug fit, so it doesn't chafe.

I've never even heard of them until now. would I use one? nah, my toys wear battle scars with pride (until winter when I send all the scarred bits to the paint room)

Every time I see a Bagster especially in black it reminds of one thing:
"Bring Out The Gimp!"

First thing I fit to any bike. Found this blue one which was perfect to cover up the horrendous dull OE primer finish to the tank.
I also add Autocom wiring, including a ptt switch on the left grip (you can see the red connector plugon the edge of the tank). The Autocom kit goes in the tank bag connected to an old iphone thats just an mp3 player now. So I get music, can talk to the wife when she’s with me and if I add the Kenwood radio I can talk to my mate. With covers and the wiring on all my bikes I just swap the bag bike to bike and have the same options on each. Much better than buying systems for each bike.

i LOVE the blue rims.. are they powdercoat or is that blue anodize? i've never seen them up close but they look fantastic.

the wiring is cool.. I was thinking of putting wireless charge station in one of the saddle bags, but haven't determined how i want to run the wiring to the bag and how to keep the device in place while riding. I use my phone as a hotspot for my dash tablet nav, and my kids have data for mapping while we ride together.

I ran a Bagster on my VFR800. Keeping the tank clean isn't the only function. It also serves as a mount for any of the excellent tank bags that Bagster sells. It removes in seconds, so you can enjoy the sight of that that pristine tank when you want to.

Let me guess...while you're here, can you just.....?
pretty much, yes!! :p... most times the items will just show up mysteriously on the work docket/queue for when he arrives for the day and i'll just feign ignorance on how it got there.
also, having the item(s) sitting proudly on top of a case of his favourite malt beverage takes the sting off of doing the owners personal items during regular work hours.

Ugly is subjective. I like the blacked out look it gives my bike, so do all my family members. It's defo a keeper for me
agreed. i don't think it looks ugly, it kind of just looks like a leather bike jacket... for your bike :)

if my bike was brand new, or had brand new paint, i'd likely wrap it in a blacked out or matte finish.. surprisingly though, the factory finish is pretty rugged.. i kind of beat mine up this past weekend and the scratches buffed out with a clay bar. if it were my car the paint would be gone with the same abuse

I guess I was thinking that the bike would go back to the dealership to sort out the cutting out after a spell of rain.
When I read the small print of the extended warranty it said excluding corrosion, I guessed it would be a waste of time and money as they'd likely not stump up the money, plus I wanted to put the iridium plugs in, so I did it myself.
You see, when it went in for the cruise control recall, it came out with a scratch on the tank that wasn't there before, so a bagster was bought thinking it would go back for the warranty item.
As it is, I liked it and so I kept it, seeing them in photos didn't convince me, but once on the bike it was different.
Apart from that, it's a good way to mount a tank bag
