I'm putting together a tool kit for a fly and ride. Do you guys carry a spare 50A main fuse? Normally I wouldn't worry about it but we're going to be in some remote locations.

Thanks.

On a Yamaha? ;)

Nope. Never carried one on mine in over 40,000 miles. And in all those miles and nearly 3 years of ownership it has never blown a fuse, or even a single bulb for that matter. All are still the original OEM ones, including the headlamp bulbs, as is the battery.

Of course, now I'll probably blow one of each now on my ride to Austin tomorrow! ::025::

Yeah it was the right bike in the right place. We've been talking about doing this for a couple of years. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=975935

Thanks for the info. I did a Google search on yamaha 50a main fuse and got a few hits on the FJR sites about them blowing. Our local dealer doesn't carry the Tenere and they don't stock the fuse. Can I just go to Auto Zone and buy one off the shelf?

Autozone will be fine. A small DVOM... digital volt ohm meter... can be handy tracking that short down before replacing the fuse.
