Did your S10 come with extra locks for the OEM cases?

So, I just bought a new 2014. My friend said it should've come with extra lock cores keyed to the ignition, so if you bought bags you'd have them. The dealership I bought it from says they are unsure, and they weren't with the bike when I bought it. What's up, guys???

Yep. You should have gotten 3 of them.
Dang, I knew it...I feel like they owe me 3 of them if they can't come up with them. They definitely were not under the seat. Maybe I better take off the passenger seat and look tomorrow some time. Thanks for the reply!

The locks are on the list of items that are covered during the purchase checklist. Contact the dealer and have them mail the locks to you.

The 3 locks should be under the seat.

The Dealer installed the spare lock assembly in the trunk for me and it comes with the Bike.

Ask the dealer who un-crated the bike and did the pre-check, installed the front wheel and wind screen, etc. That person should know where the locks are. Probably in a pile of other locks on his bench. Hope you got your owner's manual too.

Make sure they check the spokes when you do the 600 mile service.

The dealer is 3 hours away. Now they're saying they're working with Yamaha regarding the locks. I feel like they're passing the buck. Although I'd like the locks keyed for the ignition, at this point I'd settle for them footing the bill for 3 new ones from Yamaha and shipping them to me. There is no way I'm paying over $80 for a new set, when they are parts that are included with a new bike. I did get the manual in the black plastic bag, which was under the seat. The locks were just not there.
They were pretty adamant about "When you get a survey from Yamaha, make sure you call me before giving us anything less than 100% because they consider anything less than 90-something % as a fail". Well...I guess we'll see how this goes.

So you get to go for a ride. Nothing says pissed off customer like showing up in person. Just do it. If they uncrated the bike, the locks were there. I find it hard to believe someone just threw them away.

Best of luck getting things resolved.

Except mine is a 2012.
The dealer owes you these cylinders.

When you get them and have trouble turning the key (make sure the screws are tight and put a drop of lock-tite on them), try this product in the lock cylinder. I've been using my factory luggage for 4 years and discovered this recently. The locks have never worked so well.

If they don't find the original locks they will have to order new locks, the new locks won't match your ignition key but a decent locksmith will be able to easily make the new locks match your original key.

Just an update. The dealership finally told me they're going to ship me a new set of locks/keys. It's not going to be keyed to my ignition, but it's something I guess. Finally gonna be able to use my side cases! ::008::
