I looked at it, but ended up ordering a 2013 matte from them which should arrive this week. One question, why did you not keep the yamaha luggage for your new ES?

Yea I want more capacity and tougher. I think the Yamaha bags are ok but the locks just plain suck. Plus for $850 out the door Happy Trails is hard to beat. The only problem is now feel like a cheap KLR owner (oh the shame hahahhahahaha...)STIdaho said:

Tight to the bike, sturdy as hell (they make a good kickstand), really handy (removable but never been off the bike they are so handy), and the lids (and lid locks) are perfect. Their marketing claim for hinged lids is true. I have had riding buddies lose their tops because they were not latched down, the open lids make a perfect place to put your stuff while you unpack or sort qnd you never have to find a place to put then lid when it is off.
Think less KLR cheap and more "wise consumer"

Yes I bought your bike at Snake River Yamaha friday evening. Nice Bike. Traded off two cruisers collecting dust in garage for it. Would like to know why you sold it and any maintenance done.

I got a 2014 ES is why I traded it in. I just did and oil change/filter and final drive. The spokes were loctited with a special loctite made for mountian bike spokes.SnakeCav said:

Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy a bike I have been drooling over for the last two years. I have a KLR-650 that I have put Happy Trails products on and use it for commuting back and forth to work. I want to use this bike for more long distance rides. When are valve checks due on this bike? I was using a Honda VTX 1800 for long distance rides but cruisers are not for me. Have only been riding since 2008 so I am settling in to what I like most in bike styles.

Valve adjust at 26,600 I believe.

Nope, just an exhaust, rear rack and saddle. Your will always be recognizable having a 2012 with wasp decals and a black rear rack.

So is there an aftermarket exhaust on the bike i bought then. I will get a skid plate and crash bars and some kind of throttle lock put on it.

Is the 2014 rear rack better than the aftermarket options. You bought new 2014 seat for the bike then as well as muffler.

Did you use 20-40 weight oil in bike ?
