Really a place-holder at the moment. A few of us are planning to ride this coming Saturday. Route is TBD, but will include off-road sections. Easier stuff, like Forest Service Roads…

Santa Fe Conoco Just south of 470. Sidestands up at 8:30…

NOTE: Change of Meet-up!

If all goes well with work I'm in. I had something come up today that may get in the way but I should be good.

Sounds like leaving at 8:30 from the Conoco on Santa Fe south of C470.

I have a bunch of maps, let me know if you want me to bring them.

Shall we eat lunch on the trail or shall we stop somewhere?

I have 2 requests if I may:
1) I have to be back to the north east side of Denver by 5:00
2) Can we find a place to do a WATER CROSSING?....!

Getting back in time to hit Performance Cycle to try on some boots would be icing in the cake....

See you guys tomorrow.

I just found this video on advrider showing Gold Camp Rd… Doesn't look like fun.. It was from last weekend. I can't imagine its tremendously better… So that might changes things for Saturday… dunno...

That looks like Lower Gold Camp Road. We tried this on mountain bikes a few weeks ago and got stopped by the snow. Old Stagecoach Road to Gold Camp Road (towards Victor) is probably OK but I have not been there yet this season.

If we head down to Deckers and then to county rd 3? to Lake George there are 5 or 6 water crossings on that rd. Just sayin' ;>)

All that water sure looks like fun. 3 is fun road this time of year. What were some of the other crossings like? Did Art have his camera on? Where else did you guys go? Thanks for the pics. Too bad I missed it :( All of that water would have cleaned my bike up good after last weekend O:)

Yes the water crossings that was my 3rd time through this one and got bogged down in the grave with TC2 on and had to use my paddles to get out. There were more little ones it was great day of riding.

That pic of me is when I was coming up out of hole or soft sand that the bike sunk into. It bogged down a bit and I had to give it some throttle to keep my momentum up.

The crossing before the one pictured was much larger. All of them has some soft bottoms, not like the hard gravel/stream beds that I've done before.

It was a fun day of riding, it was a lot warmer than I thought it was going to be....

Thanks for posting the pics guys! Great ride. Really appreciated Kelly blazing the trail through the water crossings to find the "best" line through!

Get better fast 14kmtnman! You were missed! I didn't bring my camera as I thought for sure with all the rain we weren't going to hit any dirt. I'm going to from now on.

We ran into Vanderwho (Red Mark!) at the Cafe at Deckers….

I forgot to add that while the trail was mostly dry there were plenty of wet/muddy spots. The net effect was nice firm surface that didn't kick up much dust. I was surprised at how little dust there was.

low drag - I see you have your hard bags on. Probably a good idea to get more accustomed to them now. As you saw with my fall last week, they do tend to offer a little bit more leg protection. They sure worked well doing that on the KLR :D
