I know there are a few folks who have STs with Altrider crash bars and have fitted the above horn system. I gather from research that the compressor is mounted using a bike specific bracket directly to the engine with a couple of new bolts. Where does the horn part get mounted? Pictures would be very helpful. I wonder if I would better to return the the split unit to Twisted Throttle and get the non split unit.
Any other advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I removed the factory tool bag and put the compressor in there and the horn is on the left upper fork.

Limey; I appreciate your response.

A couple of questions; from what I can see after a trial fitting, 1. Did you have to mount the compressor upside down? 2. Did you have to cut off the aluminum mounting boss on the compressor in order to get it to fit under the black fairing piece? I don't know what year your ST is, but on my 2015 ES model it seems that both of the above steps/modifications have to be made to get the compressor to fit under the fairing piece.

Asa a separate issue my chief concern with mounting the horn on the fork leg is interference with either the front fender or fairing under either of a) full suspension travel under off road conditions or b) a full lock turn situation.

I ended up returning the the "split" soundbomb and picked up a one piece Soundbomb and the ST specific mounting bracket, which allows the horn to tuck in nicely under the Altrider crashbars. I hooked up the plug and play wiring harness to the battery, the compressor and the Yamaha horn leads, put in the line fuse turned the key and hit the horn button. There was a click but no honk. I tried reversing the Yamaha horn lead connections to the Denali harness but same result. Groan, does this sound like a defective Soundbomb or have I blown it somehow?

The story continues.
I tested the horn by doing a quick direct connection to the battery and it was indeed an audio blast! Having double checked the fuse I concluded that it had to be a defective relay. I obtained a replacement relay at the local Canadian Tire and hit the horn button again. This time there was a half hearted bleat form the horn, but nowhere near the expected 18 wheeler blast. I tired reversing the connections on the compressor ( opposite to what is shown in the supplied wiring diagram) and eureka, total sonic bliss. I phoned several MC buddies and gave them a demo over the cell phone and all were impressed.

So although your mileage may vary, it seems it's worth monkeying around with the connections.
and don't assume that the supplied parts will be perfect.

I've decided to go this option too. I owned a "split" horn system with a pretty short hose. About 1 ft. or so long. The delay in compressor spinup to horn noise was just barely acceptable to me.

The split is a great system if no other options present themselves, but the uni horn, in this location, does not interefere with crash bars, does not crush anything "important" (like, that fine expensive magnesium engine side cover) if crushed in a get off, and looks almost "factory" using the S10 specific mount.

I'm good with all this, I'm gonna use the one peice horn.

Though its old thread, I wanted to recheck how the Soundbomb is holding!
I plan on doing this install on my 2021 S10.Also is the mount on the Clutch cover safe?

Would apprecaite any picture of the install on the Engine.

Thanks,
Suresh

Shouldn't be mounted to any part of the motor.
