I started looking at S10's right around the 2014 refresh. A dealer 70 miles from me advertised a left over 2013 demo bike for $8800. That pricing pushed me over the top - I headed to the dealership the next day to buy that bike.
After a cold 70 mile ride, I found my baby parked inside right in front of the entrance. I looked at it, I sat on it, I stood on the pegs. I slobbered on that bike for a good 20 minutes. Several salesmen walked past and no one said a word to me.
I sat down at a chair in front of the front salesman's desk. A few more sales people walked by saying nothing... probably another 20 minutes I sat there.
Eventually I'd had enough and got up and walked out. I was pissed that I'd wasted a half a day of freezing riding to get a new bike that they just didn't want to sell.

Luckily in the next few days I decided to get a 2014 for the cruise control and other updates. Again a few dealers seemed like they didn't want to be bothered.
I finally got an email reply from a place that said they didn't have one, but if I wanted one, they'd be happy to find one and sell it to me. Deal was made over email, a few days later bike was assembled and guy sent me a pic. I went to pick it up with my trade, easy peazy. They even had the shop guys set up the sag for me before I left. Best experience ever.

My take-away: not everyone wants your business. The ones who don't don't deserve it, the ones who do will create a great experience. Take the time to find one of the ones who do.
