Anyone have plans for bikeweek this year?

We’re taking some north back roads over Saturday and catching the Supercross Saturday night. Then just messing around on Sunday. I might like to go back to the International MC Show later in the week, but that’ll depend on the workload.

Here’s the Events Calendar to check out all that's going on. Lots of racing action!

Post up your experiences here when you get back…

No plans for me. I'm busy this weekend, and on call starting Thursday. So no bike week for me.

I plan to be at the Speedway on Friday and Saturday 3/16-17. Saturday I'll check out the vendors and perhaps get in a few test rides. I've got the hots for a hack so will spend time at the Hannigan display drooling. On Saturday I'll be watching the races and cheering on a friend riding in the Supersport class, Donny Wright from Sarasota, an all around good guy that owns a repair shop in Sarasota and is one hell of a fine tuner!!!

Regards, Paul

I may go the 17th for some test rides. Not sure if Honda has their newest there, but I would like to try the cross runner, see how it compares with the ST1300.

I'm thinking that I may ride down from Kentucky on Wednesday, go to the Speedway to check out the vendors on Thursday, have lunch with some friends on Friday, head over to to main street Friday nite and back home on Saturday.

Since neither the Crossrunner nor the Crosstourer are scheduled for USA for 2012, I doubt that they will have them in the demo fleet.

Thanks Fred, I was hoping to get lucky like I did with the Tenere. The Tenere was at Daytona for viewing in 2010, which made me realize I wanted it.

Neither were at the IMS in Charlotte two weeks ago so I suspect they'll not be at Daytona.

Just got off the phone with the BMW/Duc/Triumph dealership in Daytona, Motus will be there on 3/15-3/17.
I plan to have a look see.

I saw them last year up by my way. Very nice concept that seems very well executed.

Eastern version of the Swallows of San Juan Capistrano

That we are entering Bike Week is easy to see for us on the east coast. I live near DC and the sudden increase in the flow of Harleys on trailers along I-95 is REALLY conspicuous.

"Trailer Week" is like the swallows of Capistrano and signals the arrival of Spring for East Coast riding.

HAHA ::025:: I was up in Savannah today, and I95 was littered with Harley tagged trucks with trailers. I don't have anything at all against it, whatever brings you happiness as long as your not harming others, its cool. But I do find it funny that they trailer their bikes. Pull them out of the trailers and ride only a few miles stuck in bumper to bumper traffic sweating their asses off. I will take the smokey mountains over Daytona any day!

Well, major Bummer…just read that second-place in points, Ryan Dungey is out for the Daytona SX with a broken collar bone. Bummer. If you saw the race in St. Louis last week, he really has that Ktoom working for him and, with another lap, might have had Ryan Villopoto…imo, anyway. 13 points back, he may not be out of it though. Over in Jax last year I watched then points leader Villopoto blow his heat race and then the LCQ and walk away with no points toward the championship (that he ultimately won). Crazy race…it was the first right-hand hole shot in fifteen years of AMA racing and had them all kinds of messed up. So you never know.

Trailering your bike is a disease. Call 1-800-SCAREDTORIDE!
T-shirt in the shop of a local custom builder who actually rides his machines.

Just looked at the Triumph 1200 and I sure like that bike.
Will that be coming available in the U.S. soon?
