I had the the same problem as Bowman. Cruise would not set after service (valve check). GV550 was dead on. The throttle switch assy was the culprit. This is a wire about 9in. long with a micro switch on one end and a double female plug on the other end. The micro switch attaches to the throttle body. In my case the tech would get continuity or NOT depending on the lay of the wire. This can make grown men cry. Good luck to you Bowman. I hope this helps.Hi. Unfortunatelly the problem isn't solved yet. The bike has been in the repair shop for a period but they are not able to fix it. Yesterday I called the Yamaha dealer (unfortunatelly the shop is quite a distance from where I live) and asked for a time at their repair shop. They where very busy but I can probably get a time later on. The problem is that I have to take vacation from my work to get there. Keep you informed.
