did you find out where that 5amp fuse wasThanks for asking!
So to refresh, my CC would not engage despite the light on dash being illuminated, brakes not being "engaged" to the point of keeping CC from engaging and having the front brake switch recall performed. For you electronic gurus, please feel free to add your insight here. They said they checked the voltage at the cruise control wiring harness and got 13.5v. It measured 15.7ohms when set button pressed. They diagnosed this as a faulty left hand switch assembly which they replaced. Still had same issue after replacement. Hooked up to Yamaha diag tool and cleared codes. It showed that the cruise would engage and then quickly shut off; CC cancel switch was cutting all power to the CC switch. They had to engage with Yamaha tech support to ultimately clear whatever codes were responsible.
Not sure I understand exactly what was wrong here but I give them credit for not charging me an arm and a leg for all the diagnosis. CC now works, I have a new switch cluster on the left side of bar. Was the original switch faulty?? I'm not sure but glad to have my bike back and it now working. Unlike many who don't seem to care for CC, it is a must have on any long distance bike for me. Riding 10 hours of boring Texas highways to get to NM or Colorado requires it for me!
I hope somehow this helps someone else who is having CC issues and they are not resolved by having the brake recall completed.
