Looking to pick up a set of crash bars for the new bike and wanted to do a spot of research before making up my mind. Let me know what you think of what you have or what you've seen.
Thanks

No kidding? That is a bummer. I almost got a set. It was between the Rumbux and ALTRider....Sadly, Rumbux is no longer in production. And yes, the Ride On ADV skid plate is bomb proof! 1/4" aluminum plate.
Skid plates - ACD, RaveTech, T-Rex racing. all are frame mounted instead of sump mounted. That's a really Good Thing™
I also crashed with GIVI crash bars. Did a good job.Last September I gave the GIVI crash guards a thorough test. At 09:30 on the Trans Canada highway traveling east towards Banff, Alberta, I found an icy bridge over the Bow River. The bike wiggled twice and then it just disappeared and I was suddenly on my back sliding across the bridge deck at 90 kph. When the world outside my visor stopped moving I found my S10 about 30 meters further down the road and two of three cases smashed and separated from the bike and a broken mirror. The GIVI crash guard took the brunt of the impact and saved the right side of the bike. I was able to continue my trip home to Cape Breton and replaced the guard with the same. I also replaced the mirror, the scuffed hand grip bushguard and both rightside foot pegs. Lesson learned...September is too late for traversing the Rocky Mountains in Canada.
I may end up proven wrong, but I don't THINK they will get pushed into the radiator in a hard go-down. Meanwhile they provide a little bit more stand off from the ground for some of the other parts. I'm also thinking that if whatever I hit, or crash into, gets past the bars....the radiator is likely the least of my worries.…. although they don't cover the top of the radiator as well.
