I called Altrider last week and asked if they could recommend a crash bar bag that fit their crash bars. They had no idea and could suggest nothing other than the Wolfman Rollie, which is fine, but more like a front saddle bag. I am looking for something like the Touratech product: http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/PN-055-1135/Crash-Bar-Bags-R1200GS-Adventure-1-Pair. I also note that Trailmaster makes them too for KTM, BMW and V-Strom.

Has anyone successfuly fitted any of these bags to Altrider Crash bars on the S10?

Thanks...

Storm Industries makes custom bags and they are not very expensive. You can find him on ADVrider. I have a pair of bags coming for my new AltRider engine bars.

I saw those on the thread there. Let us know what you think when they come in.

One of our members was the one Rider who requested them. He sent Brady a cardboard template. His pictures looked good.

I won't run them all the time but will on longer trips. I plan to use them as an extension to the tank bag.

Happy Trail makes a bag and there around $130. I have a friend that has them on his bike they look good and function well. I don't think he has been in the rain with them yet so I don't know about them being water proof. They look great though and have plenty of room.

There shouldn't be because there is a scoop in the front that feeds into the radiator and the crash bar and bag are not up against the grate that and won't block suction from the fan.

So yesterday I picked up my custom order "Storm" Altrider Crash bar bags for my 2012 original blue S10. Brady Sturm of Storm was a pleasure to deal with and was responsive. He had my Super Tenere “blue” bags shipped within a few days of placing the order. I couldn’t resist asking Brady to include a blue tool roll. The bags fit very well within the bars but sit mostly outside the bars. This is especially important on the left side where there appears to be no interference with the radiator vent. I have set out a few pics below to show the fit.

I think these bags are great and they are just what I need for those small things requiring easy access.

Thanks to tomatocity (Tim) who told me about Storm.

Can't find the link to order these....
Wish I seen these before my vegas trip !
Thanks !

That's because Brady doesn't have a web site. He sells his products off of a vendor thread over on ADVrider. Well and truly a first class guy who makes terrific products, and he makes them all by his own hand, custom to order.

Here's a link to the thread:

You'll see in his first post there's some standard stuff he makes, but he can make literally anything you might need or can imagine. Just go through the pages of the thread and you'll see. He made a bag for the little cubby space underneath my AltRider rack and it's terrific. Makes a perfect spot to carry my BestRest CyclePump compressor. His work is flawless, he makes the stuff fast, and he ships quick. Best of all his prices are more than fair, especially for such high-quality materials and impressive workmanship.

Give him a try. You won't be disappointed.

Had my s10 on the centerstand in the dirt. The stand sunk in and my baby went down on the throttle side. Bent my crash bar in a 1/4" from the shroud. I didn't get any bike damage. But another side is $145. Still can't believe that fall on pretty soft dirt did that. It's sunk on the kickstand before in the same dirt without crash bars and didn't get any damage.

Is it considered damage if only the crash bars are affected? :)

On July 4th I had a slow low side on a muddy gravel road. The Altrider bars were scratched but did not noticeably bend. I repaired the scratches with a Sharpie.
