Odd Question...

I have an opportunity to replace the two plastic painted cowling panels on my Blue Tenere, with panels from the black version of the same bike. Im trying to picture it in my head...

Would it look bad? Cool contrast maybe? Cant seem to really picture it...

Opinions?

I doubt it would look very good but you opinion on the appearance is all that counts. If your plan is to trade your panels with someone else, keep in mind that you're probably devaluing your bike by a grand or more as typically this sort of thing is done to fix crash damage.

Not fixing crash damage perse... their are some desert brush and branch scratches that can be easily buffed out that I could do without, ha (not deeper than clear coat.)

Anyway... A buddy of mine runs a salvage yard, and bought a 2012 S10 from an insurance salvage auction... says the bike was rear-ended and had bars so all of the painted parts and most of the mid section and front end are perfect. Asked if I wanted first dibs on stripping it down... looks like bars, skid plate, headlamp extra and whatever else I can strip off the front end. It'll cost me but I bet I save a grand or two in the long run. Hopefully I can get a wheel, so all I would need is a rear and I can keep a set of street tires all ready in my garage to switch out when I want. Maybe even pegs, and shifter linkages.... I was just thinking of what to do with it all, and pondered what a hybrid blue/black might look like... ha.

BTW, if anyone needs some cheap replacement OEM parts to keep around let me know Ill see what I can get off of it.

Since I have both colors I contemplated the same thing for about 5 minutes. For me I think the blue bike is already perfection. Can't see it making thing better. As for the black, I think it would just look odd. But that's my opinion.

I think, IMO, that a blue bike might look OK with black panels but for some reason not the other way around - hmmmm ?
I would be willing to look at pictures if you ever make the switch
