I love my color. The black side panels look even better in person than I expected. The grippy seat, I don't know about though...

I view these differences as simply restyling changes, not "cost cutting". I prefer the US bike's cleaner look, but its strictly subjective. I think there is a legitimate "cost cutting" move though - the US bikes apparently don't have the immobilizer anti-theft systems that other bikes have. Some prefer the simpler US system, but I view it as a takeaway.

"Secondly (and this is just my personal opinion).. I don't like the unpainted side panels.. FFS.. how much does it really cost to spray 2 panels silver ? I'm sure you guys love your bikes and please don't take this the wrong way.. but man.. the black side panels look cheap ass.."

I am pretty sure the panels started out silver...and we were lucky enough to have them paint ours black :)) :))

IMHO.. I really like the USA bikes colors.. I have Blue but the Ravens are way cool as well ..Turn signals notwithstanding each.
It ain't just me cause this ride brings near celebrity status whenever were out and about.. Kinda like riding a centerfold around ;)

The US doesn't have the level of theft that they have in, say, the UK. That immobilizer is worth a good discount on insurance in the UK. Here, outside of a very few cities, having an immobilzer probably wouldn't change your insurance rates at all.

On the NT forums they talk about one of the hazards of their immobilizers - if you lose your keys you have to replace the ECU. Which is very expensive. Say you buy a used bike and it only comes to you with one key - you can't get a spare because you need two current keys, to introduce the new key. So if you lose your key one you are SOL.
