Sponsored by Altrider of Seattle, WA and guaranteed to be a killer weekend.

Remember that these guys were very engaged during the popular RawHyde "Mines and Meadows" ride in PA a few years back and they also had a nice booth at the BMW MOA rally in PA last year including their unforgettable ADV ride.

This three day package of top shelf adventure riding is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of off-road motorcycle riding in the nearby trails of Pennsylvania and will take place on June 22-24.

For more details on prices and included locally brewed BEER ::018:: check out http://www.altrider.com/conserve-the-ride-2012/pid/935

A few of us will be taking off from Central OH and taking the LONG way there, if you know what I mean. :evil

Any suggestions on routes? Interested in doing a huge pack of S10 riders??

Should be a fun time. That is the area where I ride my WR. Make sure you have a very sturdy bash plate: that is where I whacked my RHS header with a rock tossed up by the front wheel. Expect rock gardens. I am not joking. Very sturdy boots are a good idea as well.

A few of us have had our Tenere's over there. There are sections that are mini-van friendly, and also sections where a trials bike would be more suitable. Ask Venture, he'll tell you. Be prepared, and have fun.

Oh yeah. My buddy and I are well versed in the ways of PA and the rock gardens. I tossed my GS into the garden a few years ago there and it never forgave me! Bash and bars are installed and ready for a great time. I hear they might have a pig roast and a cave tour this year. Frankly, all they had to offer is local beer and I'd show up! Hopefully I'll see you there!

Oh heck yea, I will be there.

Yep, BOOM!!

I'm making this a part of my big trip. 8000 miles starting with a 50CC (San Diego to Jacksonville). After this it's meet up with a friend or more than I count. Up through the Tail of the Dragon, Wash., D.C., New York and over to Spring Mills. After this weekend it'll be off to home

Launch on June 11 with a kick off BBQ and arrive back home on June 3o. I'll be posting up how I am turning this in to a charity fund raising event for an organization I am very passionate about. More to follow!

See you there!!!!

Thanks for the post guys! Pig roast and local beer is confirmed and booked. Conserve the Ride will definitely be an epic adventure. This ride entails 2 nights of camping, 5 meals and kegs of local beer, an epic 160 mile GPS-led route for all skill levels (n00b to expert, you'll definitely find a challenge if you want), a live Endurocross show with professional ISDE racers, presentations from racers, and loads of prizes from all of our great sponsors. We have swag from Shorai, Rotopax, ROK straps, ROX risers, Kisell Motorsports, and others. It's going to be epic!

Firefight911, I saw that you signed up for Conserve the Ride AND Ride the Hoh! See you there! We'll become great friends this summer.

Where is the exact location of the base camp for this?

This looks almost too good to pass up. I'm thinking KLX for this one.

Ha! The KLX is my little dirty girl, and she needs some love now and then! Plus I don't mind banging the crap out of her. (this is starting to sound bad...) ;)

Jboyers, tell me more about the "off road seminar." I'm always interested in good coaching and training.

Hey Venture!

The information on the seminar time/place/topic is still in the planning stages as of today (5/7/12). The following is what's available on the ride website. Once I hear more detail, I'll make sure to post it! Sounds good to me! ::008::

"Informative seminars from pro racers will teach off-road riding techniques so the rider can feel every bit confident when tackling the varied Pennsylvanian terrain. ISDE (International Six Days Enduro) racers will be presenting about the dangerous tales they've endeavored to cross the finish lines at national races."

Woodward: This is that little burg where we pop out on 45, after coming down from the overlooks, and then head east to where we saw the couple from maine in the BMW. If you could fly off the overlook that the woman backed off of, you would land in Spring Mills. Woodward is where the extreme sports camp is on the south side of 45. There is a cave and some pretty good campgrounds in the area. The KLX will make you happier out there than your other bike. My guess is you've already been on a lot of those trails during our rides: so you are very aware of the rocks, with the rocks.

You never said she backed off it. That kind of makes sense in a way, if you execute the initial flip properly you end up top-down. :-\

Well, attempted suicides are seldom rational. The Escape is still there, stuck in the trees on the side of the mountain. They got her out in one piece, but couldn't retrieve the vehicle. You almost need a rope to get down to it. One of these days, I'm going to climb down there with my camera and take a few photos to add to all of the other bizarre stuff I have.

Local info:

For those that may find they need Yamaparts while there, Buttorff Yamaha is right down the road to the east on PA45. You have to head east through the State Forest for about 10 miles or so, it is at the east end of town on the right, right across from a stand that sells delicious ice cream. here's the website: http://www.buttorffyamaha.com/

Gas is available at the Citgo in Laurelton, just south of PA45 on PA235. I know it is Chavez-juice, but they are a nice little country store, so I buy there anyway. It can also be had in Milheim, at the west end of town on PA45.

be aware that on the 24th, the 18th annual seven mountains Dual Sport and Adventure Ride will happen in the same place as the Altrider ride posted here. That its being put on by a local group, the Pennsylvania Trail Riders Association. They do most of the heavy maintenance on a lot of the moto/single track trails, so this is no upstart group that happened to double book the weekend. Just be aware of this, as you will no doubt meet them out there, and don't end up following the wrong group. They plan on starting at the US322 end, but will be on many of the same trails and roads at one time or another.

Anyone looking for local info, I'll do what I can. I don't live there ( 30-40 miles east), but it is frequently my riding area, so I do know my way around.

Happy trails.

Any/all that attend: give us an update on how it was. I'm otherwise engaged this weekend, or I'd ride over for a look-see.....

Photos would be nice.
