Stopped by the Ducati dealer last weekend and they had a new Multistrada there. I told them I had a Super Tenere on order. They said that I could come back in nice weather and ride that Multistrada { it is a demo bike] It was the $19,000 version. I might go ride it but it's no Super Tenere, 17 inch front tires are no good off pavement. I would realy enjoy a ride on the Stelvio, no dealers just kill that bike.

I agree about the Stelvio, if it had a better dealer network I would probably be riding one now.

Last week before I gave the deposit for the ST, I almost get a Stelvio but the dealer network is too bad I and do not feel confortable at all, it a big shame becuase I like the Guzzi very much. (maybe in a couple of years I get the revamp Stelvio if they open more dealers).

In the other hand I had 3 GS : 100, 1100, 1150 (which I loved ). After 122000 miles on beemers never had a final drive issue.

Last year I thought that I needed a change then I bought the Tiger 1050 ABS, but did not reach my spectations.

Now I am waiting for the new Adventure Tourer (shaft driven), Super Tenere xt 1200z.
I went japanese this time.-

Saludos

Damian

Stelvio looks nice, haven't seen any reports on them lately. I know there have been some updates.

excellent choice damien!!! I think the STelvio may be an alright bike for lighter than Tenere dirt, but like many have said, not enough dealer network. Even less than BMW!!!

The 4 gallon fuel capacity ends the Stelvio discussion for me. Reports also say that you should keep it on the road (good tourer) and limit your adventures.

Both 2011 models (the GS-equivalent 8V and the GSA-equivalent NTX) get a new 8.4 gal tank and better gas mileage - range should be well over 300 miles. And I wouldn't expect any better/worse off-tarmac performance than a GS/GSA or S10.

I do share everyone's concern about dealers and support though.

That’s a good decision, because there is a lot of bike for the adventure/ dual purpose that are very compairable. I've looked at everyone so far, read article, looked on forums, spoke with dealerships, test rode some. It’s a "buyers market". For me the BMW is a great machine. But price and cost of service is just crazy :'(. I might as well keep my Harley.
The S10 from what I've seen (youtube) and read, can do what the GS can do for a lot less.
That’s why I joined this forum.
