Actually it is called the Ride For Kids and this is the 30th anniversary for the Ride For Kids. Ride for Kids benefits the Pediatric Brain Tumor
Foundation. Arkansas doesn’t have an event so I’m going to Michigan to Ride For Kids. This year they offer a dual sport event so I’m taking my Yama-pig Super Tenere’ to ride. Ride for Kids & is a national motorcycle event that raises money for childhood brain tumor research. My ride will be on the 25th of this month. Plus your donation is tax deductible! I got diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff and a dislocated bicep tendon last week from a spill I took. I'm I still gonna ride this? Heck yeah! So give till it hurts 'cause it's already hurtin' me.

Here is the link http://pbtf.convio.net/site/TR?px=1211783&fr_id=1331&pg=personal#.UgpmadJJOAi where you can help support me in reaching my goal. My goal is to raise $500 for the kids. I only have $65 so far so click on or copy and paste the link into your browser window to go to my home page and hit the donate button! THANKS!

The two people that originally set this whole "Ride-For-Kids" event up many years ago were both inducted to the AMA Motorcycle Hall Of Fame recently.

Sadly, the married couple is no longer with us. So they were inducted a bit later than I wished. I've read about them over the years. Amazing husband & wife. Really glad their vision lives on.

So I'm in WFOPete. I'll donate. But you do know that you are revealing who you REALLY are. LOL

Ornery Rascal.

Oh, and I bet a few folks around here will donate just to FORCE you to ride in your discomfort.

Cheers

Pete - just saw this - would you be up for starting a "Super Tenere Team" for the event?

I don't have my girls that weekend, and would be up for participating as well.

Best,

Chris

Chris, are you saying you will be in Michigan that weekend?

I plan on doing this event Saturday: http://www.cycleconservationclub.org/PDF/Events/Short_Way_2013.jpg

The SWA is the same loop on both days so I'll just do Saturday's, the route is 189 miles, 15 to 20% dirt, no sand and no knobbies necessary. Almost 50-50 split in Allegan and Barry counties. Very short mileage in Van Buren and Kalamazoo counties with a lunch stop at Grand Rapids BMW. Very scenic route. With the stop for lunch, it should take about 6 hours to complete. Maps and route sheets will be available at the snowmobile club grounds.

After the SWA I'll ride back to the Ann Arbor area Saturday evening for some R&R before hitting the road I mean commuting to the Ride For Kids Events Sunday. I plan to bring the wife for the Ride For Kids event.

Pete,

I can easily be in Anne Arbor on Sunday for the Ride for Kids event. :) Saturday is my 20 year high school reunion outside of Baltimore, MD and I committed to going.

Hope you're healing up - ride to Michigan could be kind of rough with your bicep and rotator cuff!

Best,

Chris
