Well.... after my short time away on a vstrom 650, I'm coming back to a Tenere! ::012:: Found a great deal on a '13. Will be great to be back.
Good to know. They are just up the road a couple hours from me. I'll keep that in mind when Valve check time comes around. Mine has about 9000 miles so I have a ways to go. Mind telling me about what a Valve adjustment runs $$ wise there?Welcome back. FYI - Yamaha of Harrison knows the Super Ten and does good work if you need anything done. I ride up from Tupelo for valve checks.
Just under $400. There is a hotel next door. I arranged an appointment so I could drop it in the morning and 'wait'. I rode up the day before, checked in next door, brought the bike over just before opening time, then hung out at the hotel with a late check out at noon, grabbed some lunch and the bike was ready. Awesome experience. They log the actual measurements in the Yamaha system so any dealer can verify later. Nice. I didn't need any re-shim on the first service at 26k. This is my second Super Ten. Put 109k on the first one. Not my first rodeo. Local to me dealers were either stupid expensive, ($900+), or said things like "don't bother to check the valves until they get noisy", which doesn't fly, since the exhaust valves get tight first, (no noise), and beat up the seats.Mind telling me about what a Valve adjustment runs $$ wise there?
