A year ago when Eric and I rode to Alaska I spent all my vacation time on that one trip. Well, Michelle said next year I am taking her to Colorado with her Raptor. So originally I wasn't going to do a ride report on this trip because we would just be riding on my XT225 and Raptor, but at the last minute this year Michelle said why not bring the Super Tenere with us so when we get tired of riding trails we can tour around the state. So I am not proud of this fact but I hauled the Super T on the trialer with the 225 and Raptor. The Super Tenere did turn over 30,000 miles while we were riding around the state and it won't be a year old until August 15th, so I DO like riding my Super Tenere but you must keep the wife happy.

Once we got camped and settled in, the first day's trail ride was over Webster Pass with Michelle on the raptor and me on the XT225.

Then we rode up above Montezuma and over into the western valley of Argentine Pass.
You can just see Webster Pass over Michelle's helmet.

Over in the west Argentine valley is the Pennsylvania mine and mill. This would be the mine way above the mill.

Little girls way out in the mountains all alone.

While riding these trails I told Michelle that there isn't any of this stuff that I couldn't be doing on my Super Tenere, so this would be the last day I even started the XT225. From now on the rest of the riding would be with me on the Super Tenere, either two up or riding it on the trails when Michelle is on her Raptor.

We rode up into the Hall Valley.

More later thanks for reading.

When Michelle would get tired of riding her Raptor we would take off all around the state exploring.
We went down to Victor and south on the Shelf Road.
While in Victor we checked out the American Eagle Mine.

Shelf Road

Then one day we rode over Hagerman Pass.
The lower part of Hagerman Pass is an old rail road bed.

Near the top is very pretty.

I had to come back and add this one. I missed it

This would be Ruedi Resevoir.

Im working on this report so more on the way.

I've lived in Colorado for 40 years and have spent a lot of time in the back country. I've never seen a badger let alone photograph on. Bravo.

One day we moved camp over to Geneva Basin so we could ride new trails.

When we hit the road again we rode over to Argentine Pass trail on the East side above Georgetown.

Argentine road was a Rail Line at one time too. On this trail though you have to ride a mile or so of jeep trail to get up to the old rail bed.

Then it gets better once on the train bed.

You go through a stand of Bristal cone pine trees [the oldest living thing on earth]

We went as far as the Waldorf Mine.

We like mine sites if you can't tell.

I took Michelle up to Empire Pass [over looks I 70]

We rode up a canyon called Eleven mile that was very nice.

It was another old train bed.

We rode up Stephens Gulch to this old bording house.

On the wall inside was this.

So I took off to fined it.

And one of our last rides was up behind Central City and we got lost.

Nice photos Steve. I was going to go to Colorado in September to do an Aspens Ride, but I'm headed to the Black Hills instead. The photos as always were wonderful! Thanks for sharing. I still oogle over your Alaskan ride DVD when I get some time. Loved the sound track as well!

spklbuk, If you are referring to my wife you are 100% correct. I am the luckiest dawg around, even though she did crash my bike on the Shelf Road. She doesn't see it like that, but the way I see it is since she was the only one on the bike and I wasn't touching it when it fell over then technicallly it must be her that crashed it. Me leaving it running on the side stand, pointed down hill surely didn't have anything to do with it, well maybe just a little but she is a keeper anyway. Steve
