I just replaced the clutch basket on my 2012 and I upgraded the pressure plate to a Barnett Pressure plate. I put it back together and I didn't have any leftover parts ;), but when I went to start it the clutch lever bottomed out and there was zero resistance. I tried pumping the clutch a few times, but the pressure never came up. I did NOT start it. I had watched a couple of videos and I read the manual, but I am thinking that I missed the something somewhere, maybe the ball behind the push rod (but i did check to see if it was in there before I reassembled it). The manual has a step on page 5-59 # 4 which is a tip and which I did not see in any video. I am wondering if this is the cause. Any ideas before I take it apart again? Or is the clutch "normal" at this point and do I have to just start it to get the resistance in the pull?

Starting the engine won't do you any good. Clutch lever should feel normal after re-assembly, so it sure seems something was missed.

When you install the Barnett it’s very important that you have all the plates mated in the teeth of the Barnett. Typically the last 1-2 get hung up. If only one gets hung up it will feel normal but will have no drive. I’ve done this before.
Simply take the clutch cover off. Then the six spring bolts. And work that plate back and forth or “re-install“ it again until it’s seated. Test it with the clutch lever before you put the cover back.
Don’t forget to TQ the spring bolts properly.

that’s it……. It will work perfectly.

That was the problem. The teeth weren't. properly mated. I fit it together once and it was right as I pulled it off to see the oil from the clutch plates on the pressure plate, and then the second time I didn't get it mated up. Easy fix, but it kept me awake last night thinking that I somehow lost the bearing on the push rod and it was in the engine somewhere. Thanks for your help.
