Hi. I just did the rear suspension and swingarm maintenance. And changed the front seal of the final drive because it was leaking. I was surprised with the amount of sand and debris inside the swingarm and obviously that was the reason of the oil leak. I got all the rubber plugs sealed with ultra grey and even zip-tied the rubber boot in both sides since bike was new. The only place where I think that dirt could have gone inside was through both drain holes placed underneath the swingarm.
I cleaned the whole swing arm and bolted all together, but what do you think of closing both darin holes???
My common sense tells me that if there is no way of getting dirt and water inside I wont need the drain holes to get anything outside either. My only concern is building some pressure inside an blowing something like the plugs or maybe the oil seals.
I have already fitted a couple od M4 stainless steel allen bolts as plugs and they thread in perfectly.
What do you think of this idea of keeping the inside of the swingarm clean and avoid any oil leaking???
Thanks
