SO My bike started a clacking or knock in the clutch area of engine,
I fully services it,
Set valve lash.
Tripple checked timing !
sound still there.
Seems to go away a good bit if I pull the clutch lever in .
I am going to tear down teh engine after Hollidays
any advice what to look for ?
I do plan to give new rings, bearings, oil pump, plates .
I really like this bike , rather make it solid than trade it out .
The clutch basket looks like nothing i am familiar with.
Not like common baskets on 600's or thumpers ??

What year is your bike?
GEN 1 bikes have the noisy clutch basket which was improved on the GEN2 bikes (2014 +).
But if this noise is new, and you did recent service work... could be your CCT (cam chain tensioner).

As I understand it, you have a 2015 Gen2 bike, with 56k + miles, which needed significant service work only recently & had a misfire/coil issue extant - was this sorted? You also mentioned a plethora of codes showing in diagnostic mode - what is the current situation?

What you are proposing sounds a tad drastic. These engines are inherently noisy, but any gear train noise will cease when you pull the clutch. If the throttle bodies are out of balance, then I guess that would increase the clatter quotient. Does the clutch function correctly or is the take up point difficult to predict ? - this sometimes gives us a lead regarding transmission lash & clutch bearing issues, both rare with a Gen2 S10.

Teh bike is '15,
Serviced valves,
checked timing 3 times over , it is correct,
Took apart tensioner twice to be sure it was releasing and adjusting .
CHain pops tight when push on teh guide on tensioner during assembly
However I dont know how to measure if it is run out of range.
Codes : Missfire issues. Low voltage,

The Clacking is what started me on valve adjustment process .
I will replace teh timing chain when i take down teh engine,
I am unsure of what problems arise with the new clutch design,
Seeing pictures of the new design ,, a bit unsure what to look for.
On the brite side people tell me it sounds normal to them that have one ,,
Noisy engine , is the term used frequently.
Mostly getting ideas what to look for ,, since lever pull quiets it down I'm suspecting something in teh Clutch pak
while apart are any other wear items to replace ? I wish to have all parts ready . Dont like having engines apart for long in my shop .

Take up feels normal, good position, No excessive stiffness in the clutch pull ( Its hydraulic may not feel if there was )
pulls nicely thru power range, power loft front easily with 2 up riding , ( no slippage or loss there )

My bike the clutch is quieter when I pull the clutch lever in. It is just taking up the slack on the throw out bearing on the pressure plate at that point. With the clutch released there is some clearance and there will be associated noises. I also notice more clutch noise in the winter months. the fact of that is I have to ride slower because of the weather and it being so dark. The slower speeds puts the motor in a lower rpm and in a range that makes my clutch seem noisier. I have a 2012 with a 2014 clutch basket. It was really noisy with the original basket! I hear the noises but so far no issues at all with this bike!
