I had a spare, small transmitter that I used to make this work. I opened the transmitter and drilled a hole in the back plastic holder. Then I used some wire from an old head set, and soldered each wire to the circuit board, on the place where the close button made contact.
I put the transmitter under the seat and ran the wire to the right side of the bike frame where there is a small hole. I used a 3/8" threaded momentary switch and a waterproof cap. The switch was the hardest part to find.
If someone is interested, I can take some more pics of the circuit board wiring.
